Oscars 2014: Final Predictions For All Categories

Best Short Film

Mickey Mouse Get A HorseFeral Get a Horse! Mr. Hublot Possessions Room on the Broom While I do recommend checking out the nominated shorts, it doesn't always help with your predictions. In fact, after you watch them, your own opinions to their merits often blur your judgment as to what will actually win. The animated short that will have been most widely seen is Get a Horse!, the Mickey Mouse-starring short Disney showed before viewings of Frozen. Previously, the most well known short wasn't necessarily the one that won, but since a recent rule change made it possible to vote on the category without having to prove that you have seen all the nominees, things have been changing, and I suspect Get a Horse! will likely win. The other nominees, just in case you're curious, include Feral, about a feral child being reintroduced into society, Mr. Hublot, a sentimental French short about an inventor and his mechanical puppy, Possessions, and Japanese anime film, and Room on the Broom, a British retelling of a popular children's picture book. Take the safe bet though and go with Disney. Will Win: Get a Horse. Could Win: FeralShould Win: N/A

A film fanatic at a very young age, starting with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies and gradually moving up to more sophisticated fare, at around the age of ten he became inexplicably obsessed with all things Oscar. With the incredibly trivial power of being able to chronologically name every Best Picture winner from memory, his lifelong goal is to see every Oscar nominated film, in every major category, in the history of the Academy Awards.
