Oscars 2014: Predicting 10 Best Picture Contenders For Next Year

1. The Wolf of Wall Street

The Wolf of Wall Street will be the fifth collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese in barely a decade, and just might be the film to finally win DiCaprio, one of the most deserving young actors working today, that Best Actor Oscar he clearly desires so much. DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a New York stockbroker who refuses to co-operate with authorities regarding a banking corruption scandal that involves the mob. With a ridiculously strong supporting cast including Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Joanna Lumley, Spike Jonze and Ethan Suplee, here's a film that has a lot going for it, and given that the echoes of the financial crisis still ring clear, it's naturally a very timely, resonant film for the Oscars. Which film do you think will win Best Picture next year? Let us know in the comments below.
