Oscars 2015: Predicting The Winners

1. Best Motion Picture Of The Year

The Nominees: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory Of Everything, Whiplash Who Will Win? Boyhood Who Should Win? Boyhood For the first time in history (only slight hyperbole - it's definitely true since the year 2000) the best film of the year will actually win the Academy Award for Best Picture. When Boyhood was first mentioned as a potential Best Picture candidate after a tidal wave of critical praise, it was an exciting, if implausible, prospect. The film was released in July, came from an indie background, and had a novel hook that was surely going to prove too much for the Academy. But, thanks to unprecedented praise and media-driven hype, the film has defied all odds and become the deserved front-runner. Unless something majorly unexpected happens in voting, this is a pretty dead certainty. And it couldn't happen to a more wonderful film. What are your predictions for the 2015 Oscars?
