Inherent Vice Costume design is one of those categories that always seems to throw out a curveball, mainly thanks to focusing on a small part of a movie most viewers overlook (evidenced by Maleficent rearing its head here). This year, however, The Grand Budapest Hotel looks set to have it in the bag - none of the competition is as showy or consistent in style. Although you can't help but wish the subtle, refined work on Inherent Vice had more of a chance.
