Oscars 2016: 20 Biggest Best Film Contenders

16. Steve Jobs

Tech entrepreneur Steve Jobs is a figure who has fascinated filmmakers since his untimely death as a result of cancer in 2011. Both fiction and non-fiction films have been made around the Apple co-founder, but none have been as accomplished as this year's Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle from a script by Aaron Sorkin. It's presented using a dramatic three-act structure to illuminate the characters, rather than a traditional biographical approach. Michael Fassbender feels like a dead cert for a Best Actor nomination for his time-hopping performance as Jobs and it would be a major surprise if Sorkin were not nominated for his precision-tooled script. With a directing nomination for Danny Boyle also a possibility, Steve Jobs stands an above average chance of making an appearance in the crowded Best Picture field.
