Oscars 2018: Predicting All The Nominees

13. Animated Feature Film

Coco Pixar
Disney Pixar

You have to go back to 2011 to find a year when the winner of this category didn't come from Pixar or Disney, and indeed that was the last time neither of them were represented here either.

Disney don't have an animated effort this time around, but Pixar's Coco is the easy favourite. The Academy should also make up for snubbing The LEGO Movie by nominating the Batman variation, and Loving Vincent is uniquely impressive enough - it's all done in oil painting - to get it a nod. GKids, which had last year's nominee My Life As A Zucchini, should be back again, with two films in the running, and 20th Century Fox's Ferdinand is a big enough showing to round things out.

Nominees:

Coco

Ferdinand

Loving Vincent

The Breadwinner

The Lego Batman Movie
