Oscars 2020 Nominations: 16 Biggest Shocks, Snubs & Surprises

1. Snub: Wild Rose - Best Original Song

And finally, the Best Original Song field was super, super weak this year, for though Rocketman's "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" was deserved, it really felt like Toy Story 4's "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away" was only nominated because everyone knows Randy Newman, and similarly Breakthrough's "Breakthrough" simply made the cut because Diane Warren is a household name, with this being her 11th nomination without yet scoring a win.

Frozen II's "Into the Unknown" probably deserves its slot, and Harriet's "Stand Up" is fine, but was there really not room for Wild Rose's fantastic country lick "Glasgow (No Place Like Home)" to make the five?

Instead this year's field is just the same old pop slop, with one or two exceptions.
