Oscars 2024: 20 Insanely Early Predictions
9. Diane Warren Gets Her 15th Best Original Song Nomination (And Loses AGAIN)
There are three certainties in this life - death, taxes, and Diane Warren. Warren, a legendary songwriter in her own right, currently has 14 Best Original Song nominations to her name, yet hasn't ever taken the award home, enough that the Academy actually gave her an Honorary Oscar this past year.
Warren certainly knows how to get nominated, having received eight nominations over the last decade alone.
Yet while one might expect Warren to have an "overdue" narrative, given the middling quality of her songs, often in little-known movies most voters haven't even seen, it's tough to begrudge her losing out against generally better picks.
Don't expect Warren to stop now that she technically has an Oscar, though - this year a documentary about Warren is being released, and it's a fair bet that Warren herself will contribute a song to the soundtrack.
Expect her to receive her 15th nomination, but facing off against the probable likes of The Little Mermaid, The Color Purple, Wonka, and Trolls Band Together, she likely doesn't stand a chance of finally breaking her losing streak.
