Oscars 2024: 20 Insanely Early Predictions

Though 2022's Best Picture Oscar went to Sundance premiere CODA, 2023 saw no Sundance indie sustain momentum all the way to the Academy Awards itself.

That likely won't be the case in 2024, though, given the universal acclaim for Past Lives, which debuted at the festival back in January.

Celine Song's romantic drama has been widely lauded for basically every aspect of its production, and should it maintain this level of buzz throughout the year, should land at least a few Oscar nominations.

The safest bet? A Best Original Screenplay nod, and given the current praise for Song's script, there's a strong chance it even goes all the way and takes it home outright.
