10. Jimmy & Stiggs

Jimmy and Stiggs is the new horror effort from cult horror filmmaker Joe Begos, best known for his transgressive genre offerings Bliss, VFW, and Christmas Bloody Christmas.

But Begos' latest is somehow his most bewildering creation yet - a micro-budget sci-fi horror film in which he, starring as filmmaker protagonist Jimmy, encounters an extraterrestrial invasion in his apartment.

The wildly chaotic, neon-splashed end result was shot in Begos' own Los Angeles apartment over the span of four years after being conceived during the pandemic, and delivers an utterly insane, kaleidoscopic horror odyssey over the course of its drum-tight 80-minute runtime.

Yet despite enjoying a healthy run on the genre festival circuit and being acquired by Eli Roth's label The Horror Section, Jimmy and Stiggs came and went in the blink of an eye late last year, getting a limited theatrical run before being quietly released on streaming.

It's certainly not for everyone, but for those who can get on Begos' abrasive wavelength, Jimmy and Stiggs does offer up some diverting thrills.
