Owen Wilson: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

5 Awesome Peformances

5. John Beckwith - Wedding Crashers (2005)

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson have an undeniably great chemistry when paired together, and whilst their playful to-and-fro couldn't carry the likes of The Internship, Wedding Crashers is an absolute riot - with Wilson in particular revealing additional emotive layers to an otherwise hilarious performance. As two eligible bachelors who crash weddings to try and bed any girls who'll swoon at their charms, John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey seem like absolute bastards on paper. Yet Wilson and Vaughn make these guys likeable and extremely funny, effortlessly bouncing off one another with superb comic timing throughout. One particular wedding sees Beckwith have to dig a little deeper to successfully get under the sheets with bridesmaid Claire (Rachel McAdams), and the more he tries, the more he realises that a one-night-stand might not be what he wants after all. It's during these scenes where Wilson provides his character with an underlying sweetness, as Beckwith slowly begins to develop genuine feelings for a girl that was initially just another notch on the bedpost.
