Peter Fonda to grab A Handful of Beans
Veteran swaps his Western boots for a live-action version of Shrek.
Peter Fonda is awesome. I've always had this dream of me directing him as the biggest bad ass Western villain you have ever seen, taking no shit and delivering the most evil dialogue known to man. We oozes that Western persona and I say this as a complaint but he's not the kind of actor that we produce these days. Fonda is of course no strange to Westerns having dipped into the genre frequently in his career, most recently with 3:10 to Yuma which opens this week. The type of movie I wouldn't relate to Fonda is a kids film and according to the actor himself speaking to MTV, that's exactly what he has lined up as his next movie....
Im going to start a film in October called A Handful of Beans...Its a fairy-tale fable type of a story, a G-rated film. I like the fact that Ill do a G-film.The movie is described by MTV as Shrek but in a live-action. So I'm seeing Yuma tomorrow night. It is finally getting some buzz here in the U.K. with many preview screenings around the country and lots of heavy advertising going up around the towns. If Halloween can make $26.5 million, then there is no reason to think why Yuma can't match it, especially with the acting heavyweights of Russell Crowe and Christian Bale behind the film.
