Pierce Brosnan to play cards in The Big Biazarro
Is Pierce Brosnan on a personal vendetta to show the world that he could have still played James Bond in Casino Royale? Back in November, I reported that he signed on to the comedy movie Spy vs. Stu where Brosnan would play a "handsome and debonair spy" in an obvious parody of his Bond persona. Today comes the news that Brosnan has teamed with Maloof Motion Pictures to adapt the Leonard Wise novel The Big Bizarro into a starring vehicle from himself. Coming Soon give us the plot of the novel... "The drama is set in the high-stakes world of international gambling, and Brosnan will play an elusive veteran card player who mentors a headstrong but talented protege". So he's got a Spy movie coming up..... CHECK! And a card movie coming up.... CHECK! For my money, this is an obvious intent from Brosnan to show the world he could still have been 007. Maybe not with the gambling movie which just seems like a little coincidence but certainly with the comedy Spy movie. The Big Biazarro will be directed by regular t.v. helmer Vondie Curtis-Hall, who now has the difficult job of making a "scripted" game of poker interesting for the screen. It's not easy, and in many ways Martin Campbell couldn't manage it in Casino Royale. Most people complained that the poker bits were "boring" and "silly". source - variety, coming soon
