Polar Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs
2. It's Too Damn Long
There is no reality where this film needed to clock in at a beefy 118 minutes: it's just too damn long. Combine the two hour run-time with a breakneck pace and you have an experience that's ultimately more exhausting than it is entertaining.
As a snappy, 95-minute romp, Polar would've been decidedly easier to tolerate - if still pretty bad, mind you - yet when dragged out so unreasonably, it actually becomes a frustrating, resent-building sit.
It is most certainly a movie to watch while casually scrolling through your phone, because it's extremely unlikely to hold the attention of many for its entirety otherwise.
