POSTER: JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3-D
Finally, a first look at JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3-D. The film is one of three big Brendan Fraser star vehicles of 2008 and it will be the first live-action production to be projected on Real D's digital 3-D screens, which it's thought there will be around 1,500 screens by the film's July 11th release date. The CGI for JOURNEY will be used for the tale's many creatures with the actors being the only live-action characters, with the novel being updated to the present day. I really hope they do Jules Verne's classic adventure story some justice and if it's half as good as the James Mason original film then it will be fun, but I just can't see it. I do like the casting of Fraser and for me he's the perfect action hero for this type of epic franchise and I do like the poster. Then I'm just reminded of what happened to THE TIME MACHINE a few years back and I start to cringe. Eric Brevig directs the feature as his debut movie. He worked as a visual effects supervisor on several Michael Bay and M. Night Shyamalan movies and helmed some episodes of XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS.
