13. The Xenomorph Skull (Predator 2)

While Predator 2 lacks the original's muscular, fat-free finesse, it is a suitably ambitious, bats*** crazy follow-up that dares to go to some incredibly eccentric places.

One of its most crowd-pleasing moments occurs at the tail-end of the film, when protagonist Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) ends up aboard the Predator ship and finds a trophy room containing various species' skulls, including that of a Xenomorph.

It's easily missed if you're not paying attention, but as a nod to the Alien vs. Predator comics that had launched shortly before the release of the film, it was a delightfully peculiar Easter egg.

Fans eventually got their AvP movie - two of them, in fact - but sadly neither quite lived up to this tantalising set-up. Speaking of which...
