4. Maurice Dies To Save Caesar - War For The Planet Of The Apes
Probably the most obvious prediction someone could make for the third Apes movie is that Caesar (Andy Serkis) will die at the end.
However, considering he was very nearly killed in the second movie, it will feel both over-familiar and redundant, in much the same way that Trinity being saved in The Matrix Reloaded only to die in Revolutions seemed totally dumb.
It's much more likely that a beloved supporting character will die, and honestly, apart from Caesar, who do audiences love more than Maurice, the smart, kindly orangutan?
His death, likely saving Caesar and his family in the process, would be a carhartic, emotionally devastating moment and end the movie with audiences sobbing all the way home.
