Possible Plot: An origin story for Doctor Stephen Strange, a brilliant surgeon who is driven to poverty after an accident leaves his hands ruined. Discovering a hermit within the Himalayas, Strange is taught the Mystic arts. Dream Casting: Justin Theroux as Strange: a realistic choice due to his scripting of the first Iron Man and a closeness to the MCU. He's also a young-enough actor with talent, as demonstrated in his work with David Lynch, even if people have been suggesting heavyweights like Johnny Depp and Viggo Mortensen, or TV Favourites such as Patrick Dempsey and Aiden Gillen Why? This is perhaps the most surefire guarantee of all the predictions. Though it hasn't been officially confirmed, Feige has frequently admitted to a love of the character and suggested it may be one of the two movies scheduled in for 2016. Presuming the events of Avengers 2 change the face of the MCU, Marvel will need a new face to head-up Phase 3 along with Ant-Man, and Strange may just do this. This might also open up the Mystic world of Marvel, just as Thor did for the Cosmic side of the comics. Expect this to take the May 6 slot to get a head-start on the slew of Summer Blockbusters, as it will stand in better stead for it. Predicted Reaction: Due to an inspired bit of casting for Strange, the MCU will find its new Tony Stark. The out-there weirdness of the mystic elements combined with a real-world grounding will leave a decent-enough impact that people will want more Strange in the Avengers, as well as a sequel. Expect this to do as well as Thor so long as it's a little more light-hearted and closer in tone to Iron Man.
