Predicting The Next 28 Movies Marvel Will Make Up To 2028

17. Ant-Man 2 (2020)

Shaken by his defeat and humiliation at the hands of Hulk, Scott Lang spirals into depression, destroying his relationship with his wife, and his standing with the Avengers. When a rogue scientist - Elihas Starr - is caught stealing important plans from his boss Hank Pym to sell them to the criminal world. He is kicked out of the programme, but draws the attention of the same criminals, who charge him with proving his scientific abilities by taking out Ant-Man, and staking a claim to help build a team of super-villains. Shunned by the Avengers, Lang is forced to take Starr down mostly alone - aside from help from the Vision - despite his enemy developing powers to control ants and turn them away from him. This would offer an opportunity to explain and explore Ant-Man's support for the superhero registration act, as a direct response to Lang's wayward behaviour (in the comics Pym of course is an advocate of registration and proper training and support). The Cameo: Tony Stark, welcoming Lang back to the Avengers initiative.
