7. Inside Llewyn Davis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFphYRyH7wc The Coen Brothers take on 60's folk music in their newest film, Inside Llewyn Davis. The film follows a singer-songwriter who navigates the New York folk music scene during the 60's. Inside Llewyn Davis has an intriguing cast, mixing newcomers such as Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan, and Garrett Hedlund with more veteran actors such as Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, and F Murray Abraham. The Coen Brothers have delivered a string of consistently excellent films over the last few decades and this film seems well suited to their slightly odd sensibilities. Early screenings of the film have generated excellent word of mouth and with the best directorial duo of modern movies in charge as well as a compelling time period as the focal point of the film, Inside Llewyn Davis should be one of the most original and entertaining films of 2013.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
