Predicting The Next 10 Comic Book Movies From Worst To Best
1. Deadpool (February 12, 2016)
What We Know: After Blade: Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern and R.I.P.D, its about damn time that Ryan Reynolds actually starred in a good comic book movie. After completely mishandling the character in the first Wolverine spin-off, everything that we've seen so far points to Deadpool righting those wrongs in spectacular fashion.
The project was stuck in development hell for years, with many fans wondering if the movie would ever see the light of day. Then, the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to the test footage that leaked in July 2014 led to the movie getting an official greenlight just two months later, with Reynolds proving more than happy to share pictures from the set on a regular basis.
The Prediction: The first official image perfectly captured the essence of the character, and since then we've seen the incredibly versatile Deadpool on the toilet, delivering a baby and flying through a hail of gunfire, as well as a brilliant April Fool's Day video that put to rest any notions that the movie would be PG-13.
A violent, fourth-wall breaking R-rated comic book movie led by a wise-cracking antihero? There aren't too many of those around, and Deapool definitely has the potential to deliver an entirely different breed of superhero shenanigans to the big screen.
Predicted Rating: 9/10
