Aquaman is arguably the toughest nut to crack in the entire DCEU, because just having audiences take the guy seriously is a massive challenge, not to mention the massive visual effects requirements in order to bring the character to life.

Yes, Momoa will surely get a ton of praise for his work here, and though Wan is usually a reliable filmmaker, don't be surprised if his talents get lost in a flurry of CGI water, along with the palpable human element.

There wouldn't really be much shame or surprise in mixed reviews for the movie, though, and it'd still be leaps and bounds ahead of both BvS and Suicide Squad...
