There's very little chance that Pixar makes fans wait almost 15 years for a sequel to The Incredibles and it isn't, well, incredible.

The original presented such fantastic characters that this follow-up could so easily build on, and the superhero genre is so huge right now that there's a ton of room to have fun with its well-worn tropes. As such, The Incredibles 2 can essentially have its cake and eat it too by satirising comic book films but also being a genuinely enjoyable one in its own right.

Pixar's track record may not be quite as top-notch these days as it once was, but betting against them with a passion project as blatant as this is never a smart idea.
