4. The Mediocre, Forgettable Villains

Project Power Rodrigo Santoro

One of the most persistent complaints about the superhero genre is that filmmakers so rarely put as much effort into crafting compelling villains as they do heroes.

For all of its many successes, Project Power is sadly no different.

The source of Power is soon enough revealed to be a shadowy, well-funded outfit with their own dubious motivations for "bettering" mankind - does this sound familiar yet?

Rodrigo Santoro tries his charismatic best to make his antagonist Biggie interesting, though there's not a single thing that's at all memorable about his character or motivations.

Even worse is his superior Gardner, played by the shockingly squandered Amy Landecker. Despite being the primary villain, she's barely in the movie, and is unable to make anything of Gardner but a stock, cardboard cutout of a final boss.

Neither character gets much screen time, and so they're sure to leave audiences still pining for a straight-to-streaming superhero flick which actually invests time developing an antagonist worth a damn.
