Prometheus & 15 Other Movies That Didn't Live Up To The Hype

9. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

After his past had been teased to us again and again throughout the X-Men franchise, Wolverine was finally given his own movie which promised to explore the origins of the clawed one in depth. The trailers promised something moody and far darker than previous X-Men installments, and the mere thought of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine getting his own movie all to himself was enough to get excited over. Once again we found ourselves totally let down by the whole thing. A muddled script, awful action, turned this film into something completely underwhelming. Decent performances from it's cast couldn't save this atrocity from it's own ineptitude. Any film that makes me long for the likes of Brett Ratner, means that there is something seriously wrong with this picture. Hopefully James Mangold's next take which promises to adapt Wolverine's famous Japanese story arc redeems this and brings Wolverine back to his former glory.

8. Hulk (2003)

After the success of Raimi's Spider-Man, Marvel's green angry machine was the next obvious choice to hit the big screen. With Ang Lee calling the shots and Eric Bana in the lead, all seemed likely for another winner from Marvel. Yet once we saw that CGI green mass flying through the air we knew we were in trouble. The film isn't a total mess, and Lee should be applauded for trying something more cerebral with the character than just the simple HULK SMASH!! movie. However it turned out that there wasn't enough Hulk smashing for some and we would have to wait for Mark Ruffalo and Joss Whedon to finally give us the Hulk that we were longing for.
