Prometheus Gets R-Rating

The film that is sure to melt faces and minds all over the globe is set to receive an R-rating.

That's right folks, all the talk and speculation seems to be true. The film that is sure to melt faces and minds all over the globe is set to receive an R-rating. Collider have managed to get their hands on a picture of an advanced ticket stub for the release of the almighty "Prometheus", with the stub displaying an R certificate. It was only last month that Fox CEO Tom Rothman gave this statement:
"I can assure the fans absolutely they can take it that the film will not be compromised either way, so if that means that the film is R, then it€™ll be an R. If it€™s PG-13, then it€™ll be a PG-13. But it will not be compromised."
If this is true, and Fox have kept to their word with regards to ratings then this is great news. Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" had a budget of $100 million, under half of what Joss Whedon had to produce "The Avengers". Regardless of this, it still looks just as epic in its own right and will make that money back in box office sales in a heart beat - despite the fact they will now be limiting the films audience considerably. It's great to know that companies will still honour the artistic integrity of a director in this day and age - that doesn't tend to happen too often. If you haven't managed to check out the latest trailer yet (if not, where have you been!?) then take a look below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU6wcZhMzEs Prometheus, starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron will be hitting UK cinemas on 1st June. The wait is almost over.
