Tiny Nazi murder dolls? Why not?

In this era of revivalist horror movies making money and big franchises doing well at the box office, you'd be forgiven for thinking that there wasn't much room in the genre for anything that deviated from the successful model any more. But then you obviously haven't been keeping track of the progress of Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, the delightfulyl titled reboot fo the Puppet Master franchise.

After impressive reactions recently to the movie, a new trailer has landed building on the promise that it's the "craziest film of 2018" and it looks like a fairly reasonable claim, to be honest.

Behold: it's really quite glorious...

Here's the synopsis too, which is arguably even better than the trailer:

"Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar returns to his childhood home to regroup his life. When Edgar finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother's room, he decides to sell the doll for some quick cash. Girl-next-door Ashley and comic book pal Markowitz join Edgar for a doomed road trip to an auction at a convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that's motivated by an evil as old as time."

It's got everything: a great comic cast, puppets, murder and a tiny Nazi with weapons for hands. What more could you want in your horror movies?

And this is no throw-away goofball horror either. It was written by Bone Tomahawk and Brawl In Cell Block 99 director S Craig Zahler, which elevates it considerably (though the cast is already working hard there). It's definitely one for horror fans to look out for when it's released on limited screens starting August 17th, 2018.
