Quentin Tarantino: His 5 Most Inventive Shots

2. Joe Cabot, Mr White And Eddie Cabot (Reservoir Dogs)

Joe Eddie Mr White Allow me to set a complicated scene for you splendid people; Joe suspects Mr Orange of being a rat, but instead of following correct procedure and reporting his ginger-haired suspect to the proper authorities (or just finding an adult to deal with the problem) he threatens to carry out a classic example of mob justice. Mr White has his own version of events, and promises to kill Joe should he choose to go through with the makeshift execution. Eddie meanwhile, has decided the father-son bond he has with Joe can't even be broken by a two bit jewel thief with whom he shares nothing more than a working relationship €“ and in an act of faux bravery I can only assume is fuelled by the fact that no-one is pointing a gun in his direction, resolves to shuffle Mr White off our mortal coil if he avenges the hypothetical killing of Mr Orange . The impasse was broken when Joe concluded that murdering a man who was clearly bleeding out anyway was well worth taking a fatal bullet for €“ and set off a lethal chain reaction that resulted in the instant demise of both himself and his son - yeah, Mr White shot them both (and still had the mortality to top Mr Orange when it was revealed he actually was the rat). Everyone loves a Mexican standoff, especially when the fools taking part do actually end up shooting one another, and so it's only right that we put this magical moment near the top of our list - there's only one possible Quentin Tarantino moment that could outshine it ...
