Fans are eager to know if Quentin Tarantino will really retire after his tenth movie, but in the meantime he's still writing. As first reported by Deadline, the Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs helmer has inked a partnership with Harper Collins to write a novelization of the well acclaimed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, scheduled for release in Summer 2021.

The novel will start as a mass market paperback, e-book and digital audio book, then followed by a hardcover edition in the fall.

Here's what Tarantino had to say about this new project:

"In the seventies movie novelizations were the first adult books I grew up reading and to this day I have a tremendous amount of affection for the genre. So as a movie-novelization aficionado, I’m proud to announce Once Upon A Time In Hollywood my contribution to this often marginalized, yet beloved sub-genre in literature. I’m also thrilled to further explore my characters and their world in a literary endeavor that can (hopefully) sit alongside its cinematic counterpart.”

The novel will expand the Hollywood narrated in Quentin's latest movie and have DiCaprio's Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth talk more about the desire of making spaghetti westerns and interact with real-life figures such as Jim Brow, Fred Williamson and Burt Reynolds.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood scored 10 nominations at the 92 Academy Awards.
