Ranking August 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

3. Mistress America

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 84% (7.6/10) Box Office: Though the budget has never been disclosed, it's likely going by Noah Baumbach's previous budgets that this one sat at around $3-5 million. It's scooped $633,112 to date, though like many of Baumbach's films will probably fare better on home video, given that they're not exactly outings that crave a viewing on the big screen. The Verdict: Yes, this film will do absolutely nothing for you if you see Baumbach's output as nothing more than a series of movies about "first world problems", but if you're a fan, this is another devastatingly funny effort from the writer-director, who benefits from again collaborating on the screenplay with his "muse" and partner Greta Gerwig, who also stars in the movie. Refusing to get bogged down in maudlin sentiment while serving up Baumbach's signature life observations combined with cutting humour, it may not be the most memorable film in his canon, but it's highly entertaining nevertheless.
