Ranking EVERY James Bond Henchman From Worst To Best
29. Naomi (The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977)
This cheeky chopper-piloting chick serves as Bond and Anya Amasova’s (who’re under the guise of marine biologist Robert Sterling and his wife) point of contact and chauffeur in introducing them to the nefarious, Aquarius seafarer Stromberg.
When she arrives in a speedboat to take the pair to her boss, Bond wastes no time admiring her handsome craft - and it’s hard for Naomi not to notice. She proceeds to spend the rest of her screen time playfully flirting and winking at the charming Englishman, much to Anya’s chagrin. She later tries to kill them both… which presumably annoys Amasova even more.
On Stromberg’s orders (once Bond’s flimsy alias is immediately seen through) she pursues Bond and Amasova in a thrilling chase along the Sardinia coast via helicopter, initially proving difficult to shake. That is until Bond drives the iconic Lotus Espirit into the sea, where Naomi can’t follow. Below the watery waves, she can’t see them… but they can see her through the targeting lens of their handy ocean-to-air missile system.
Thus, Naomi is promptly blown to kingdom come. What a shame - such lovely lines.
