Ranking EVERY James Bond Henchman From Worst To Best
7. Irma Bunt (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, 1969)
Despite looking like a runner up from an Anne Hegerty lookalike contest, Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s trusted accomplice Irma Bunt manages to commit an act that causes James Bond more suffering than any other.
After accompanying a "disguised" Bond to Blofeld's Piz Gloria mountain base, Bunt acts as a stern matriarch to a retinue of beauties - nicknamed Blofeld's "Angels of Death." She gives 007 an awful fright when he finds her hiding in his bed, but she has much worse in store for him.
When the film's furious climactic bobsled chase ends with Blofeld dangling from a tree with a broken neck, it looks like all is well.
Unfortunately, it's not. As Bond and his new bride Tracy are about to drive off into the sunset, an ominous dark car approaches. Lo and behold, it's Blofeld and Irma Bunt with a wedding gift from hell. By shooting Tracy dead, Bunt achieves what no villain before or after had truly managed.
She shatters James Bond. What's more, she gets away with it.
For her pivotal role in such a traumatic moment in Bond's life, Bunt is remembered in infamy.
