Ranking Every Keanu Reeves Movie Worst To Best
60. The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)
Almost a decade before he joined the MCU with Doctor Strange, director Scott Derrickson helmed this completely pedestrian, forgettable remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Though the film released at the height of Keanu's rep as a wooden performer, this was actually a smart use of his particular brand of stoicism, casting him as the affect-free alien messenger Klaatu.
That doesn't make up for the fact that this is a boring remake no matter its glut of big-budget CGI hooey, and offers little reason for its own existence beyond the soulless milking of a brand name (both the original film and Reeves).
59. Chain Reaction (1996)
Undeniably watchable thanks to the sheer star collision of Reeves, Morgan Freeman, and Rachel Weisz, Chain Reaction still isn't nearly as exciting as its high-octane title might suggest.
This sci-fi fugitive movie - helmed by The Fugitive director Andrew Davis no less - miscasts Reeves as physics student and machinist Eddie Kasalivich, while Weisz is largely wasted as his sidekick, leaving the bulk of the acting heft to fall to an effortlessly scene-stealing Freeman.
It could be worse, but it's by no means a good movie.
