Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
11. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies (2018)
While DC fans were still busy washing the taste of Justice League out of their mouths, along came this refreshingly silly, outrageously meta animation to make fun of the whole superhero circus.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies may be too peppy and energetic for some tastes, but its rat-a-tat approach to humour and dynamic visuals made it an infectiously fun time.
Cage has a small supporting role as the voice of none other than Superman himself, a part he was originally intended to play in Tim Burton's aborted Superman Lives project in the 1990s.
10. Joe (2013)
Joe was a much-needed win for Cage and his first truly great film for many years at the time.
Director David Gordon Green tells a familiar story with an eye for character detail and restrained emotion, allowing Cage and co-star Tye Sheridan to deliver a quietly affecting character study of a man who protects a 15-year-old boy from his abusive father.
The story is hardly much unique or revelatory, but it finds considerable honesty in its two main characters, re-affirming how Cage is far more than the guy who freaks out on-screen for our collective amusement.
