Ranking Every Predator From Worst To Best
2. City Hunter - Predator 2
After the success of the original Predator, a sequel was inevitable. As such, Predator 2 was released in 1990. The film took place in Los Angeles instead of the jungle. Its new Predator, aptly called the City Hunter, faced off against numerous gangs as well as police officers. This creature was bold and more reckless than the original, jumping from rooftops to attacking armed civilians inside a subway station. The City Hunter would eventually face off against Detective Mike Harrigan in the film's climax. Despite being riddled by bullets as well as losing its arm, the Predator fought to the very end until it was killed by Harrigan.
Stan Winston and his team had more time to design this version of the Predator. The result is a creature so intricate and life-like. With new additions such as the spear, the smart disc and the net gun, the City Hunter was a living weapon. Despite its increased bodycount, City Hunter followed the honor code by sparing children and pregnant women. At the same time, its face was given more detail to assure audiences that this was a different being compared to the first.
Predator 2 added more to the lore of the creature, putting in new elements not seen in the original film. From City Hunter's hunting clan to the revelation that the Predators have been hunting for centuries, the sequel opened up the expanded universe.
