Ranking EVERY Resident Evil Movie From Worst To Best
1. Resident Evil
Fans of the game series didn't like this film when it first released, because it doesn't stick to the source material - bar borrowing certain elements. But if we were, to be honest, this is the best Resident Evil motion picture to date, and one of the most thrilling zombies films out there.
There are a ton of memorable scenes and iconography, from the red dress Alice dons to that laser corridor sequence. This became such a key part of the series it would pop up again and again to the point it was one of the only watchable moments in the Final Chapter. And who can forget the Red Queen's infamous line, "you're all going to die down here"?
Unlike in subsequent releases, zombies were a threat. They don't fall to a few bullets and are even scary in this film as Umbrella's top forces are dispatched by the undead hoards with ease - the Hive feels like a dangerous place and you legitimately at times fear for the survivors as they discover what is going on under Racoon City. There is something here for both fans of the games and film lovers too.
For the Resident Evil films as a whole it never really got better than this and when it comes to video game adaptations, Resident Evil 2002 may well be the greatest of them all.
