Ranking February 2019's Movies From Worst To Best

1. Burning

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 94% (8.7/10)

Box Office: Lee Chang-dong's acclaimed mystery-thriller has made $6.8 million from the speciality box office worldwide, though with a limited release in just 27 North American cinemas, it's sure to perform much better at home. Still, nobody's getting rich on this one.

Verdict: One of 2018's most unforgettable films, Burning is a sneaky, genre-shifting film which begins as a romantic meet-cute but slowly devolves into something far more mysterious and sinister.

Despite its beefy 148-minute run-time, Burning delivers consistent intrigue throughout, delving deep into its complex characters and getting terrific work out of its central trio, especially a never-better Steven Yuen.

Ambiguous in the best way and extremely tough to shake, this is the art-house slow-burn done right.
