Ranking January 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

22. Fifty Shades Of Black

RottenTomatoes Score: 13% (3/10) Box Office: The $5 million comedy pulled in just $6.2 million, far below the initial $10-11 million projections. It's not a total bust and also the sort of film that'll likely flourish on home video, but still, that's not good. Verdict: It's a Marlon Wayans spoof "comedy": what did you honestly expect? Parodying the widely-maligned Fifty Shades of Grey is already pretty low-hanging fruit as far as comedy material goes anyway, but Wayans also infuses it with his uniquely black spin that rehashes the same lazy racial jokes again and again. There's a good chance you'll actually laugh more just watching Fifty Shades of Grey, which is really the movie's true failing. It's all the more depressing because Wayans is a fine actor when he wants to be...which just isn't very often.
