RottenTomatoes Score: 42% (5.2/10 average) Box Office: With a hefty $135 million price tag, Home needs to hit big, and it certainly helps that it's already got $25.9 million in the bag from international releases. Tracking has it pegged for about $35 million in the U.S. this weekend (putting it at either #1 or #2), which along with the remaining international roll-outs should ensure solid profits all around. The Verdict: Home is the definition of a mixed bag: it certainly doesn't do very much to annoy, but at the same time, it's just not very clever or funny either. The visuals pop to an extent and the voice acting is solid (though Jim Parsons' Sheldon-esque protagonist might wear some viewers down over 90 minutes), but it's an animation which will evaporate from your mind within minutes of leaving the cinema. It's disposable and might keep the kids quiet for a few hours, but there's just not enough imagination, heart or humour here to keep the parents awake and intrigued.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
