Ranking November 2015’s Movies From Worst To Best

2. Brooklyn

RottenTomatoes Score: 99% (8.6/10) Box Office: Made for just $10 million, Brooklyn has already grossed $10.7 million as its platform rollout continues in the U.S. Not a huge hit, sure, but it'll continue to be successful as the year closes out. Verdict: Though on the surface it might not seem like much more than a well-made melodrama, Brooklyn has received considerable acclaim for its pitch-perfect evocation of the period (1950s Ireland and New York), not to mention an exceptional lead performance from Saoirse Ronan, who seems poised to earn a Best Actress nod for her sublime work here. Production design is top-notch across the board, and much like Carol, this is a film set to be a fierce Oscar contender over the coming months, short of something coming wildly out of left-field in December to shake things up.
