Box Office: Straight-to-Netflix.

Verdict: What a thrill it is to be watching a new Orson Welles movie in 2018, on Netflix no less.

Almost 50 years after it started production, it's little surprise to report that The Other Side of the Wind is a messy film - given that it was fundamentally unfinished at the time of Welles' death - but also a fascinating curio that film buffs absolutely owe it to themselves to watch.

With a ground-breaking meta-film narrative and a deliciously slimy performance from John Huston, Welles' project is compulsively watchable in even its more opaque moments, and undeniably one of the most tantalising films to be released all year. Not the "lost masterpiece" many were hoping for, but stunning in its own way.

Also make sure you don't miss Netflix's companion documentary, They'll Love Me When I'm Dead, which offers some splendid insight on the movie's roughshod production (and is arguably more entertaining and interesting than the film itself).
