Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

6. Men In Black

Batman Blade Wonder Woman
Columbia Pictures

The failure of the recent Men in Black: International didn't come as a surprise to anyone that knew the franchise would suffer without the involvement of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Hell, even the two sequels suffered from the law of diminishing returns when the original stars were still front-and-center.

The first Men in Black remains as watchable now as it was 23 years ago, and the relatively-breezy 98 minute running time flies past in the blink of an eye. It can't be easy making a buddy movie set in the sci-fi genre that's incredibly reliant on visual effects that doesn't once forget about the plot or the characters, but director Barry Sonnenfeld pulls it off spectacularly.

The chemistry between Smith and Jones would be more than enough to power the whole thing, but Men in Black both succeeds and endures thanks to a smart and witty script, a memorable cast of supporting players and several standout action sequences.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
