Ranking Every Major MCU Villain From Worst To Best
12. The Abomination/Emil Blonsky (The Incredible Hulk)
The Incredible Hulk was an early misfire from Marvel Studios, mostly due to the complete lack of chemistry between leads Edward Norton (Bruce Banner) and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler). Their wooden performances combined with a lackluster script to make for Marvel's weakest offering ever.
Tim Roth was a bright spot in the film as Emil Blonsky, a Russian-born British Royal Marine who finds himself overpowered while trying to take down the Hulk. Furiously competitive, Blonsky subjects himself to a series of experiments designed to give him super soldier-like powers. The two clash, and Hulk nearly kills Blonksy.
That wasn't the end of Roth's character, though it was the end of Roth. Blonksy transforms into The Abomination, a Hulk-like powerhouse with a tiny head and no genitalia. He and the Hulk brawl in the streets of Harlem, but of course, the Hulk comes out victorious.
Roth's performance in the early part of the film was good, if not great - the role as Blonsky hardly played to his strengths. After the transformation, though, The Abomination is a one-note CGI obstacle for the hero.
