Ranking The Terminator Franchise From Worst To Best

6. Terminator: The Machinima Series

Poorly animated using an outdated 2009 video game engine, Terminator: The Machinima Series was officially released online by Machinima in six parts in 2009. A prequel to Terminator Salvation and totalling 74 minutes in length, what the web series lacks in visual design, it makes up for in terms of proper character and story.

Following pilot Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood), The Machinima Series details her personal struggles with The Future War and a mission to destroy "The Ghost." "The Ghost" ends up being a human being named Laz Howard, who has found a way to jam Skynet machines. Williams befriends Howard, and disobeys her orders to kill him, in hopes of finding a way to end the war.

Overall, this series works because it fleshes out the Terminator universe. We see the effects of the war on civilians, we see how deadly Terminators and Hunter Killers can be, and we see the sacrifices big and small one makes in the face of tremendous adversity.

Definitely be wary of the incredibly poor presentation, but check it out if you have the time and want to explore the world even further past the live action content.
