Ranking The Terminator Franchise From Worst To Best

4. T2 3-D: Battle Across Time

T2 3-D: Battle Across Time is a ride that was created by James Cameron for Universal Studios Florida. Featuring ideas that he stated would be featured in his Terminator 3 (which he abandoned after the success of Titanic), BAT is a ride that combines live performances with a 3D short film.

Featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick reprising their roles from Terminator 2, the ride film of 12 minutes was produced on a budget of $24 million. The story follows another T-800 returning to rescue John from another T-1000, the duo hop into the last day of The Future War to defeat Skynet once and for all.

Overall, one can't really judge the ride as a whole, unless they actually attend it. While the Hollywood ride is closed, the Florida ride is still open. Even if you can't attend, a variety of videos with varying quality are splattered throughout YouTube as Universal seems not to care.

The actual film certainly has the style, scale, and scope of Cameron's two movies, but it all feels a bit corny and dumbed down for the family audience. Arnold spouts out one too many one liners, and not an ounce of blood is shown on screen or stage.

But if this was just a pilot presentation for Cameron's Terminator 3 to be set in The Future War, man did we all miss out.
