Though Bradley Cooper and Tom Cruise could certainly give him a run for his money in the performance department, no other actor is capable of such natural charisma as Downey Jr.. Playing Iron Man, he has raked in millions and millions of dollars. And it's the success of the billion dollar superhero flick Avengers: Age Of Ultron this year that has propelled him to the top of the list of the world's highest-paid actors. That deal he made with Marvel? Turns out it was even more lucrative than we could have imagined! Downey Jr. is always brilliant, though, no matter which film he appears in - he can play comedy, drama and the place in-between with an ease that feels both honed and natural all at once. But the sum of his mega earnings for this year were mostly achieved through his work for Marvel Studios; playing Tony Stark brings this guy a whole lot of profit. The highest-paid actor in the world
should be one of the best actors in the world. With Downey Jr. it's not only easy to accept that he is, but he somehow manages to convince audiences that - of all the A-listers in Hollywood - he deserves to be. Ho-hum.
