Recasting Every Major Role In The DCEU
10. Armie Hammer As Batman / Bruce Wayne
What Happened?
Though Ben Affleck was largely agreed to be the only praise-worthy aspect of Batman v Superman, his departure from the role of the Caped Crusader has been whispered about for literally years now, amid both creative frustrations and personal issues on his part.
To the frustration of many, Affleck confirmed his departure last month.
The Recast
With Matt Reeves' The Batman rumoured to start shooting before the end of the year for a summer 2021 release, a recast announcement is probably imminent.
Numerous names have been thrown around over the last year-or-so - including Jake Gyllenhaal - but the one that just won't go away? Armie Hammer.
It's been stated numerous times that Reeves' solo movie will be effectively rebooting the superhero with a much younger equivalent, and so in addition to his deep baritone voice, statuesque figure and dashing looks, at 32 years old he's just the right age.
What's more, it'd be something of a poetic win for Hammer, given that he's been actively pursuing the role for more than a decade, after being cast as a young Batman in George Miller's aborted film Justice League Mortal way back in 2007.
Accepting Hammer's long-standing relationship with Warner Bros. and their clean keenness for him in the role, this is easily the most probable prospect on this list.
