1. It's BY FAR The Most Faithful Resident Evil Movie

This is an extremely low bar for the movie to clear, admittedly, but Welcome to Raccoon City is at least the most faithful live-action Resident Evil adaptation to date.

Anyone left frustrated by the previous Anderson series' casual disregard for the games will certainly be better-served here, for while it doesn't combine the first two games in a particularly graceful way, an effort has at least been made to keep on a familiar track for fans.

Ultimately it doesn't mean all that much if people still don't want to see the movie, but at least fans will probably get a fair kick out of seeing some of the series' iconography on the big screen for the first time. It's something, right?
