Ridley Scott Talks Prometheus Extended Blu-ray & Blade Runner Sequel
Ridley Scott talks sequel, deleted scenes and Blade Runner 2 specific scene details.
Ridley Scott recently sat down for a pretty straight down the line chat with Collider about his new film when it certainly got interesting as he got onto the topic of discussing the extended cut of the upcoming "Prometheus" Blu-ray, included a specific deleted scene.
He also mentions a specific "Blade Runner" Sequel scene for all you Blade Runner Sequel guys.
You can watch the interview below;
Okay then. We know there's about 27 minutes cut, which seems to be the deleted scenes including on the disc (or the "Menu" as Ridley keeps referring to them as). Whether that's included within a new cut as well as or just as separate selections seems a little unclear but by the sounds of it, the theatrical cut is what Ridley wanted out of the film (lousy rushed pacing in the second half and all). More interestingly, Ridley even says he wants to do the sequel. Which is a very positive thing. Ridley obviously wants a franchise out of this return to the "Alien" universe, so maybe the cliffhanger he left us on with get some further developments after all. Also in tune with to my recent article (which is full of great ideas from all you readers too - keep them coming, they've been great) Ridley connects religion to his work on "Prometheus", a theme hinted at, played upon and repeated in the film. Highlighting this is a big problem for us humans. This may indeed connect to why the Space Jockey's / Engineers changed their minds about us 2000+ years ago but there's nothing solid on that yet... here's hoping for a commentary when the Blu-ray arrives. Even so, Ridley seems pretty happy with all that is Prometheus here but no further mention on the mystery that is 10-11-12 yet.
