7. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003)
This movie oozes patriotism for the United Kingdom. No matter your opinion of Thatcher, it's hard to argue that she did not love the UK. In the early 1800's, it was no doubt that the French possessed the strongest military in the world.
Master and Commander focuses on taking down a French ship in the Pacific Ocean. Russell Crowe wins using ingenuity to camouflage his ship as a non-warship. The French fall for it and end up captured. With the knowledge of France falling from their laurels, it leads to the British Empire controlling most of the maritime trade routes, unchallenged as the global force on the seas. Britain + strengthening economy = Thatcher's dream. This is like having a die hard Tea Partier in the United States watching Mel Gibson's
The Patriot. Only factually correct.
